ADAPTIVE SYSTEMS

To showcase capabilities in Edge Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Robotics, we created an interactive experience on top of Adaptive Systems platform. Multiple agents are programed to navigate on a map, detect each other’s presence, make decisions and perform tasks.

Computer Vision

Intelligent and adaptive systems are expected to become an integral part of our daily lives. In order to be accepted by, and interact efficiently and naturally with humans, they have to adapt to changing environments as well as the users in dynamic real world situations. Intelligent adaptive systems are not only expected to automatically acquire and manage knowledge through a variety of sensors but also to observe, sense, learn and respond in real time. 

The challenge is to create an interactive experience showcasing features including multi agent orchestration, edge intelligence, central surveillance, computer vision and sensor fusion. An experience that is playful, meaningful, technical and can attract people's attention and discussions.

CONCEPT DESIGN

HOW TO PLAY​

  • There are 4 destination symbols on the four corners of the map, representing destinations such as coffee shop, gas station

  • You, as a participant, tell the agent where it should go to by picking a destination cube from these 4 building corners and putting onto the agent. 

  • Then you place the agent on the map at designated starting point. It will navigate around the map by itself, communicating and negotiating with other agents to optimize the route to the destination you picked. 

  • When it encounters obstacles on the map, it will call cleaning robot come remove it.
